What's on at Christmas

Christmas trees along the paths, fairy-tale 3D projections and fire pits. The Christmas market is in the park at Schloss Balthasar, and there is an ice rink with no published price. For children, there is the FIS Snowkidz ski school and cross-country skiing at Skitty World Nordic. The Monaco at Europa-Park exhibition is new; the Ice Sculpture Dome is currently listed as closed.

There are up to 23 hours of shows a day on the usual stages: a Christmas circus, figure skating in the Ice Arena (Greece), musicals at the Globe Theater (England), the theatre in the Italian area, the projection mapping on Eurosat and the fountains on the lake in the Austrian area. The park has not yet published the 2026 programme.

More than 100 rides and attractions open, but any of them can close at short notice because of ice, snow, wind or cold; the website does not say which. To warm up, there is mulled wine and punch in more than 50 restaurants.

Which day to go and how to plan it

The park is closed on 24 and 25 December. Our pick: a weekday between 28 November and 22 December, with the full decorations, no holiday crowds and a cheaper afternoon ticket. From 26 December to 6 January, expect more people. Compare dates with our tool for choosing when to visit Europa-Park.

With 8 hours in the park each day and more than 100 rides and attractions, one day is not enough: the 2-day ticket is the better choice. The car park opens at 9:00; arrive before 11:00 and start with the outdoor rides, in case wind or ice stops them later on. Bring a coat, hat, gloves and waterproof shoes.

If you are staying nearby, the afternoon ticket is the best plan: you go in at 16:00 and see the park lit up until closing time. Resort hotel guests get in before the regular opening time. Add up tickets, nights and meals with our Europa-Park budget calculator.
